Cookie Policy

Last updated: 31 July 2026

The short version

LetsBuildAfrica does not use tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies of any kind. We use your browser’s local storage — a similar but non-cookie technology — to keep you signed in and save your progress on forms. Details below.

1. What are cookies (and local storage)?

Cookies are small text files that a website can ask your browser to store and send back on later visits, often used for tracking, advertising, or remembering login sessions. Local storage is a similar browser feature — data is saved on your device, but it is never automatically sent to any server; a website has to explicitly read it. LetsBuildAfrica uses local storage, not cookies.

2. We don't use tracking or advertising cookies

We don’t run any third-party analytics, advertising, or social-media tracking scripts on LetsBuildAfrica — no Google Analytics, no ad pixels, nothing that profiles you across the web. We only know what you tell us directly by using the Platform.

3. What we store in your browser

We use local storage to make the Platform work smoothly. Specifically, we store:

  • Your sign-in session — so you don’t have to log in on every page.
  • Your account details — your name, email, phone, and role, so we can personalize the interface.
  • In-progress form drafts — for example, if you’re halfway through registering as an artisan or booking a project and close the tab, your progress is saved locally so you don’t have to start over.

This information stays on your device and is only read by our own website when you visit it — it is not accessible to other websites, and we don’t use it to track you elsewhere online.

4. Payment pages

When you make or receive a payment, you may be redirected to a secure checkout page hosted by our payment partner, Hubtel. That page is operated by Hubtel, not LetsBuildAfrica, and may set its own cookies under its own privacy and cookie practices. We recommend reviewing Hubtel’s policies if you have questions about that part of the process.

5. Managing or clearing this data

Because we use local storage rather than cookies, the usual browser “cookie settings” won’t show it — but you can clear it the same way you’d clear site data:

  • Clear your browser’s site data / local storage for this site via your browser settings, or
  • Use a private/incognito window, which won’t retain local storage after you close it.

Clearing this data will sign you out and remove any in-progress drafts, but won’t affect the account information already saved on our servers.

6. Changes to this policy

If we ever start using cookies for analytics or any other purpose, we will update this page and, where required, ask for your consent first. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data more broadly.
